The American Customer Satisfaction Index, or ACSI, was conducted with a total of 9,949 responses from customers about their purchases and their satisfaction with said purchase. The company, ACSI LLC, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, compiles the responses and assigns an average score of 1 to 100 to each brand in a given category. The survey has been conducted every year since 1994. Subaru has ranked high in the ACSI for numerous years.

Subaru ranked as the number one brand in all of the categories below, each of which the manufacturer has won in years’ past: 

  • Vehicle Safety, six years in a row 

  • Product Quality, five years in a row 

  • Overall Product and Service Quality, three years in a row 

  • Perceived Value, three years in a row 

  • Dependability, two years in a row 

  • Driving Performance, two years in a row 

Subaru Had a Higher Score Than In 2024 

Subaru, as a brand, had an overall score of 85, representing a 2% increase over 2024. This achievement pulled a three-point lead over the next two brands, Mazda and Toyota, with the latter actually dropping a percentage point in 2025 compared to its 2024 score. Out of the 16 car companies that made the list, Subaru was one of the eight brands that increased their score from 2024 to 2025.
