The 2026 Subaru BRZ is a game-changer. It is our purest sports coupe ever created. It has even been named to Car and Driver's 10Best list four times so far, saying, "The BRZ brings driving fun and deft handling to the masses and manages decent practicality while it's at it." It should come as no surprise that the BRZ is considered one of the greatest sports cars of the 21st century, with a true enthusiast pedigree.
The 2026 Subaru BRZ is a study on how to create maximum performance from minimal weight, which is why it continues to wow drivers with its brilliant chassis and suspension tuning. This allows you to carry more speed into corners than some higher-priced sports cars on the market. Subaru offers the BRZ in three different trim levels: Limited, tS, and (new for 2026) the Series Yellow.
Even though the 2026 BRZ is a sports car that can be used on the track, Subaru has made sure to pack the little coupe with plenty of technology, including EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology and SUBARU STARLINK with an 8.0-inch Multimedia suite.
Performance
The 2026 Subaru BRZ features a 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder that produces 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or an available 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All models come standard with Active Sound Control, which brings even more engine sound into the cabin for added sportiness and more visceral feelings.
Standard on all models is a TORSEN® limited-slip rear differential that helps to ensure maximum traction, especially if taken to a racetrack. Thanks to a multilink rear suspension, the BRZ is responsive and agile in all driving situations, with lots of control and feedback through the steering wheel.
The 2026 BRZ tS and Series Yellow models raise the ante with Brembo high-performance brakes. These feature 4-piston front and 2-piston rear fixed calipers painted gold with a red Brembo logo. The calipers clamp on to 12.8-inch front rotors and 12.4-inch rear rotors, which are an increase of 1.2 and 1.0 inch, respectively. Unique Hitachi dampers with Subaru Technica International-tuned suspension make the tS and Series Yellow just that much better of a track weapon than the Limited trim BRZ models
Exterior
The 2026 Subaru BRZ is a sleek and sporty car with a powerful and stylish exterior. Bold lines and a defined body give it a unique and dynamic look. The front grille is broad and aggressive, with premium LED lighting that enhances the overall design. Two air intakes and a signature Subaru badge are featured on the hood for improved engine cooling. The Limited trim comes with 18-inch matte gray alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires. The 2026 BRZ tS model features 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels finished in Dark Gray Metallic that also wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Based on the tS model, the 2026 BRZ Series Yellow offers a more exclusive Sunrise Yellow color, along with matte black 18-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The 2026 BRZ Limited brings Ultrasuede front seats with red leather accents, while the tS trim comes with black upholstery, but with blue stitching on the front bolsters and a blue leather accent down the middle of the seat. The instrument panel visor and doors are lined with BRIN NAUB® nubuck-like material.
On the tS model, a more elevated Ultrasuede upholstery adds blue stitching and leather bolsters to the cabin. The ignition button switches to red, along with red accents on the instrument cluster. The stitching on the Series Yellow model matches the exterior paint color.
Technology
The SUBARU STARLINK® 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming, a rear-view camera, and SiriusXM. All models receive a premium audio system with a two-channel amplifier and eight speakers.
The 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster shows your speedometer and tachometer and allows drivers to choose what extra information they would like to see, like coolant temperature, lateral-G, and more.
A unique feature of the 2026 BRZ is the tire pressure monitoring system that allows owners to program two different sets of tires for ID-registering. This means you can have a set of summer tires and winter tires, or road tires and track tires, for example. You can change between them and let the car know that you are running a set of tires that are inflated to a specific PSI, at which point the BRZ will alert you if the tires have dropped below the specified threshold.
Safety
The award-winning Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is standard on all 2026 BRZ models. This advanced driver assistance system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert.
Other standard safety features of the 2026 BRZ include: High Beam Assist (HBA); Daytime Running Lights (DRL); whiplash-reducing front seats; side curtain, driver's knee, and pelvis/torso airbags; tire pressure monitoring; and more.
The Limited and tS trims add Reverse Automatic Braking when optioning the 6-speed automatic, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Steering Responsive Headlights.
