Have you met the Barkley Family? They happen to our favorite family of dogs. And, they will be back on the air just in time for the holidays.

Subaru believes that every one of their vehicles must be “Dog Tested. Dog Approved.” Which is why you see the fine family of the Barkleys in a series of commercial spots. You get to follow them behind the wheel of our latest vehicles as they find adventure in their everyday lives.

This campaign continues pet-focused storytelling that is both heartwarming and humorous. You will see seven new commercials aired across all television and digital platforms.

DogTested2025_TheChase_KeyFrame.jpgThe first spot is called “The Chase.” Imagine a Subaru with the Barkleys aboard, a 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid, chasing down the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. That will be followed up with “Roundabout,” where the Barkleys are running around in circles by navigating a roundabout in a Forester Hybrid.

DogTested2025_NewLook_KeyFrame.jpg“New Look” introduces the Barkleys and the rest of their neighborhood to the new 2026 Outback. The 2026 Outback Wilderness makes an appearance in “Handwash,” where the Barkeys try to wash the mud off their vehicle

Our new trio of electric vehicles will take center stage with our favorite canine family. The 2026 Solterra EV is a quiet place to be, but someone breaks the silence in the “Squeak” spot. Leave it to baby Barkley to emit the only sound heard inside our electric SUV. With the arrival of the 2026 Trailseeker EV, the Barkleys spot a squirrel on a family outing. The squirrel never noticed they were coming. Oh, they’re just “Tracking.”

DogTested2025_HandWash_KeyFrame.jpgThis leaves the Barkleys on the road again to experience the upcoming 2026 Uncharted EV. Papa Barkley brings home the new EV crossover/SUV for their family to enjoy the “New Car Smell.

The Barkley Family are ambassadors for Subaru’s Love Promise pillar that helps encourage owners to enjoy their vehicles with their favorite furry friends. Subaru Loves Pets also supports pet adoption and rescue efforts nationwide – including in Northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe region.

As an extension of these efforts to encourage pet adoption, rescue, and pet’s enjoyment of riding along, Subaru will continue as the exclusive automotive partner for the Puppy Bowl. Now in its sixteenth year, this fun event is also the original and longest-running call to adoption event on television. The Puppy Bowl will air on Super Bowl Sunday on Animal Planet during the big game’s halftime.

For those who love their pets, they can enjoy the comfort and convenience of riding along in a Subaru. Contact us at Michael Subaru to explore the pet-friendly vehicles available in our lineup. We also offer a line of pet accessories through our parts department!
