AutoBlog Drove the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Sport Hybrid

If you wanted a 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, which trim would you choose?
The choice between the Sport and Limited trim levels depends on how you view the world. If you want luxury, efficiency, and the fun-to-drive practicality of the Crosstrek Hybrid, you will most likely choose the Limited. For those who like a little fun, they gravitate towards the Sport.
As you weigh both trim levels, AutoBlog went on to put a 2026 Crosstrek Sport Hybrid through its paces. How did they like the sportier 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid?

The Sport trim may look like any other Crosstrek, but you have to look at the Hybrid badges on the front doors and liftgate. The Sport adds 18-inch gray-finished alloy wheels and comes in two excusive colors: Sand Dune Pearl and Citron Yellow Peal. The seats are upholstered in a Sport cloth with yellow accents and contrast stitching. The driver’s seat is power adjustable, too.
Underneath the hood is a 2.5-liter BOXER four-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors. That puts down 194 net combined horsepower. That is sent inward through the Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and its Symmetrical all-wheel drive. This driveline is rated by the Environmental Protection Agency rating at 36 MPG across the board. On a full tank of gas, that can yield around a 597-mile range.
However, it also has a dynamic side. The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Sport Hybrid also comes with Subaru Intelligent Drive, which gives a set of drive modes for on-road performance. The dual-function X-MODE also adds traction management to the mix. Between the two settings, you can get through dirt, snow, or even mud when conditions are not as ideal.
The 2026 Crosstrek Sport Hybrid remains a practical crossover that is designed to go anywhere you point it to. It can seat up to five people and can carry up to 50.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. It is now equipped with a 12.3-in fully digital instrument cluster, offering clear, colorful readouts for quick information. In the middle is an 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment touchscreen that serves as a hub for connectivity, smartphone integration, entertainment, and several key vehicle functions.

What did AutoBlog think of the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Sport Hybrid? They said, simply, “it keeps the things that already worked—good visibility, useful space, comfy ride, standard all-wheel drive, and everyday practicality—while making the driving experience smoother and more efficient.”
All of the things you love about the 2026 Crosstrek Sport Hybrid is within reach of your budget. If this is the efficient, practical, and capable crossover you want to take home, contact us at Michael Hohl Subaru to see one soon!
