Is there a vehicle that is right for the “cool mom”? The one who takes the kids to school, heads to the store, goes to work, and takes the weekend to trek up into the Sierras. She has a smile on her face all of the time and is truly loving life in the moment.

Naturally, they want a standout vehicle that can do it all without complaint. That calls for a three-row SUV offering loads of space for up to eight passengers and offers plenty of versatility for expansive cargo hauling – even the ability to tow up to 5,000 pounds! That sounds like a 2026 Subaru Ascent!

Our three-row mid-size SUV welcomes families of all sorts to its spacious cabin. It can seat up to seven or eight, depending on which trim you choose. Passengers are also entertained through the 11.6-inch Starlink infotainment touchscreen with plenty of connection points across all three rows. The driver can also keep tabs on their second and third-row passengers through the Cabin Connect feature.

All 2026 Ascent models are powered by a 260-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine that also puts down 277 pound-feet of torque. A Lineartronic continuously variable transmission sends power through the Symmetrical all-wheel drive system. The Ascent comes with dual-mode X-MODE, making year-round adventures easy with your family on board. The 2026 Ascent also sits 8.7 inches off the ground for better clearance over deep snow or uneven surfaces.

When it comes to safety, you can rely on Subaru to protect you. The standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology package includes a series of features designed to keep everyone safe on our highways and streets.

You can choose from seven different trim levels. New for 2026 is the Limited Bronze Edition. It starts with the Limited trim and is available only in a seven-seat version with second-row captain’s chairs. This model adds subtle bronze-finished trim on the exterior and inside. These nice touches are found in the stitching, steering wheel trim, lower exterior cladding, and front clip. More prominent is a set of 20-inch bronze-finished alloy wheels.

To examine this new-for-2026 trim, the Ben Hardy Reviews YouTube channel remarked that the Ascent Limited Bronze Edition was “smooth…comfortable…quiet.” He also said that
“Subaru has a cozy feel to them.”
